Same thing happened to me in my 4KSQ.. First, the center diff lock light
stopped lighting up and I wasn't sure if it was actually working.  It
wasn't.  Then, a few weeks later -- the rear lock failed.

Check and make sure it's not just the light that's out.

If not, it could be a vacuum problem -- in, as in my case, an 'actuator.'

It took 3 weeks for Audi to get the part from Germany!
