starter

ah! the starter. when mine failed on the 86 5kcdtq i borrowed the one from
the 84 5ks...it's a pain to get at the upper bolt. i used two methods. the
first was to remove the right front wheel and access the bolt through the
tie rod hole,. the other was to lie on top of the fender and hang over the
back of the engine. looking down the bolt is just visible. i used a 1/2 "
drive breaker bar to loosen it and a 3/8 ratchet to take it out. of course i
always recommend axle stands and chocked wheels. don't forget to disconnect
your battery and keep your radio code handy. i discovered as did other
listers...there are no parts available....replace it with a used or lifetime
guarantee rebuilt starter.
