Thanks for the reply. However, remember that the car surges a little and i'm
sure it does. So, i don't think its the shield. If it were the shield, the
sound would be different, like from a tin can.
The vibration is pretty solid. I suspect the exhaust pipe or something
related to the front/center/rear differential of the quattro system. A
distant suspect would be the fuel pump that may not be pressurizing the fuel
system enough... starving the engine, causing the engine to lose power... that
car has 150k miles. Could it also be the torque converter (is there one in
the 1990 V8Q?). Also, is the quattro system electronically controlled or
mechanical? Any idea or info anybody have would be helpful. I would be very
grateful.
BTW can somebody show me where the drain plugs are for the differentials and
where can i buy a synthetic gear oil at a reasonable price.
