Expensive used Audis galore
Hi all,
Visited the Dutch Audi importer's annual high-profile used car show today.
Lots of as-new Audis, and I was amazed by the amount of quattros
(considering the small numbers you see on the roads here every day).
Lots of A8 quattros, an S6 plus Avant (with the 4.2 V8, nice and stealthy
in dark blue metallic), an RS2 Avant (wowie!) in not-so-stealthy
Nogaroblau, a very nice red 90 competition quattro, a couple of coupes, an
S4 sedan in dark grey metallic (no badges, you had to be a real spotter to
distinguish it from the plain Jane 100). Lots of A3s and A4s, a couple of
old and new A6es... all in all about 100 cars, plenty of 'sold' stickers
and a nice show overall.
Hmmm... Dfl 120k for that S6 plus ($60k, pretty cheap considering it was
only a year old and had cost well over Dfl 200k), Dfl 90k for the RS2 ('95,
70k miles) -boy, I didn't know they were that expensive! and the A8s ranged
from $100k to $140k. The '94 80 competition q was about $20k.
Food and drinks galore, nice ambience, plenty of wealthy-looking people...
I'd say it was a good show. Clambered all over the demo-TTs and looked at
their gorgeous shapes (again) and thoroughly enjoyed myself.
Outside I looked over the demo car park, saw a couple of black TTs, a New
Beetle, a very dark blue S4 sedan and lots of Boras.
Customers had brought their own nice cars- an Ur-S4 sedan, a US-spec CQ, a
V8 quattro with nice 18" wheels (OZ Supertourismos?) and lots of other
gems. Luckily I'd brought my camera...
