At least on my car, the light pattern is the same as the one I am used to
seeing on European headlights.  The cutoff on the light pattern is very
sharp and there is the little additional "notch" of light that leaves at
the upward angle from the right side of the light.  Is this different than
what you notice?  This light pattern is what I remember from cars in
Europe and also the pattern of non-DOT-approved Hellas I have installed on
cars of mine.
