Loose hose on my 4kcsq

A few weeks ago when I was changing the oil on my '86 4kcsq, I noticed a
loose hose from under the engine. It was only visable with the oil filter
removed and it looked like it was suppose to connect to the exhaust
manifold. The hose is about 1.5" in diameter and is a flexible fabric type
material (I really didn't get that good of a look at it). I connected the
hose back to where I think it's suppose to go, but I think its come loose
again. I looked in my very handy Hayes repair manual (yes, that's a joke)
and didn't see anything about this hose and it's purpose. Maybe something
for the heater?

Is it anything to worry about that this hose is disconnected? The car runs
fine, I don't notice any fumes, etc that would be common with and exhaust
leak. The heater works OK. To make it stay in place, I think I will need to
clamp it on, but that would probably require removing the oil filter again.

Thanks for any info.
