Compared to you folks who can "dial a boost" , this is not much. For power
hungry 1993 V6 owners however this is great stuff.
Mike Rooney just finished fixing an ugly oil leak in the valley area between
the heads with a new gasket. While he had it apart, we had a machinist bore
out the throttle body as much as possible was 1.950" and now is 2.150" dia
hole. . . We worried about making the hole too close to the size of the
butterfly- (there have been posts about sticking open in that case), but we
could not go that big. Turned out to be limited by the size of the intake
air fitting- (don't want unfiltered air coming in). I didn't get to see the
modified part- happened too quickly.
It noticably helped the low end power. Now, even at 2300 rpms it wants to
accelerate where before it just kinda muushed. It feels like more power
across band, and the highway mileage is about the same to a little better.
Don't know about mileage in town yet. I'll post that when I have data.
See ya,
Craig
