Re: Washing the Audi

Jeremy Palenchar decided to speak these words:

Well, since im obsessive about my UrQ, i follow the 5 hour wash/wax
thing. Picture, a cold, dark friday night in san francisco, there is an
audi get together the next moring, and you want the car to look great....

So you go to your local auto parts store and stock up on the BEST stuff
you can buy. So that i did, i bout meguires gold class car wash, meguires
professional line: swirl remover, cleaner/wax, showcar glaze, solid high
tech yellow wax in the can, and the final step, the high tech polymer
sealant. You also get some lexol leather cleaner and conditioner, a new
sponge, some new polishing cloths, some new applicators, and some othe
little things. You get up to the register and are shocked to see a total
of about 110 bucks...oh well, nothing but the best for my car.

Anyway, the car has some fading to very orange (its mars red btw) on the
hood and roof, so its the whole thing, from the wash to the sealant. You
start at about 8pm. Anyway, you wash, then you take out the swirls on
the hood and roof, then you glaze it over, then you put the wax on it.
You look at your watch, and its about 1:00 am...well, no time for the
sealant.

I did a different method this time, to prevent swirl marks, i went back
and forth instead of around and around for the more forceful
applications....

anywya, the fading is 100% gone and i cant believe how absolutely
gorgeous the paintlooks. its a labor of love, but i highly recommend
those products....

later...
