Re: Washing the Audi

>>So you go to your local auto parts store and stock up on the BEST stuff
you can buy. So that i did, i bout meguires gold class car wash, meguires
professional line: swirl remover, cleaner/wax, showcar glaze, solid high
tech yellow wax in the can, and the final step, the high tech polymer
sealant. You also get some lexol leather cleaner and conditioner, a new
sponge, some new polishing cloths, some new applicators, and some othe
little things. You get up to the register and are shocked to see a total
of about 110 bucks...oh well, nothing but the best for my car.<<

First of all, let me say that it's a little scary recognizing yourself in the
thoughts and deeds of a 19 year old. At least I think Michael is nineteen. (If
you aren't my apologies.) Before anyone takes offense, let me say there is
nothing wrong with being nineteen....in fact, now that I think of it, nineteen
was/is quite wonderful.....the perfect age.....I would love to be nineteen
again.....if I knew then what I know now......but, I digress.

We've had unseasonably warm weather in the Northeast, as some of you know.
But, expecting just the opposite I decided to give Baby a good waxing before
the cold weather kept me from doing so. So I went to Pep Boys or some other
such place and purchased almost the identical shopping list as you see
above...even the Lexol cleaner and conditioner. Oh, but I also purchased a
couple of those plexiglass license plate covers to keep my new vanities ship-
shape. Then I thought about waxing Baby for about 4 or 5 weeks. It semed like
such a big job. I purchased Meguiar's 3-Step process. All three stages had to
be put on in the "wax on wax off method." I was wondering when I would find
the time (or the motivation).

Then last Thursday I purchased a large Rubbermaid container in which to keep
all my waxing supplies. I didn't want them to get in the way when the detailer
vacuumed the trunk.

I have to say, even though I have a relatively new car. That coat of wax did
wonders for the shine...it sparkles...it gleams...it reflects and it was sooo
easy!
