Ooops wrong plugs!
I recently came home from a vacation in Florida, where I bought some parts
for my 200TQ -85. I also bought tho sets of Bosch Planinum plugs since they
are VERY expensive here in Sweden. I didn't know the which type I should
have in my car, but I figured since you only have low octane gas over there,
your standard plugs would be harder/colder than mine. I guessed one grade or
so. That would be just fine for me as I run higher boost than stock and
hope to run even higher soon! When I came home and checked with my manual I
saw that the plugs differed two grades! In the wrong direction! five instead
of sevens (5-Sweden, 7-US). This makes me unsure about one thing, does bosch
plugs go from 5 (soft/warm) to 7 (hard/cold). I thought it was the other way
around!
I might as well ask if anyone knows if I can do any modificatons to the
igniction computer to get rid of that fuel cutoff at 0.8 bar rel, without
getting a chip. (Once as a puppy I was trained to repair electronics). I
wonder if even the chip has to do with the fuel cutoffs as i know that there
are some other modifications than the chip done to the computer during a
computer upgrade.
BTW:
Someone on the list had a problem with a check engine light and found it to
be the air intake temp sensor that had bad contact. The day after I read
that my check engine light suddenly started go on while on positive
pressure. I just got out of the car checked the wires to that sensor,
thinking no way it's that easy, not for me. Found that one of the soldering
points was bad, fixed that and no more check engine light! Could you belive
it?
