The first time that I reach 45+ mph, the tranmission shifts into overdrive.
If the motor shoots up 500-1000 during the engagement of the lock-up, I have
a problem. At this point the transmission shifts in reverse. The motor has
to rev to over 3500 rpm to shift up. Dropping below 2500 rpm causes the
transmission to shift down. The downshifts are harsh given the speed of the
car for that gear. I have driven it in this mode for 30 minutes without a
change. Restarting the car remedies the problem until next time.

With the car in "3" I won't have this problem until I need "D" or 4th for
highway driving. I drive over 45 mphs 30 seconds after leaving work. It
takes 5-10 minutes to reach this speed leaving my house. Therefore, I
think the problem is related to the tranmission being warmed up. FWIW, the
problem started in the summer in Hot South Carolina.
The dealer noted that the transmission had an error code, but commented that
it was inconclusive. Actually, he indicated that a new computer would fix
the problem (not to mention my wallet). Does anyone have a means to read
transmission error codes?

No shavings or Cat hairs!! But I have only put about 250 miles on it so
far. I may try it without the sport mode set on Friday.
