"The AMG Mercedes team has denied that it is building an all-new sports
racer for next year's Le Mans 24 Hours. 

Rumours have suggested that Merc is ready to ditch its CLK-LM in favour of
an open-top design, but AMG team manager Jurgen Mattheis has stated that he
intends to stick with an evolution of its FIA GT Championship winner. 

'The rules may favour the open cars, but I don't see there is a big
advantage. We will continue with an evolution of the LM for next year,' he
said.
