ABS non shut off syndrome

I found this out last night while I was trying to be stupid. I tried to
lock my rear diff on my 89 90q without success. The switch just does nothing.
Curious, I hit the ABS off button and it does not function either. I know
that these are related only in that ABS automatically shuts down when a
diff lock is engaged. Any thoughts?
