	well, they wouldn't in san francisco.  i know people with
	beaters that just leave the doors unlocked because they 
	get break-ins so often.  they don't even check the doors
	before they smash.  one guy even leaves a note behind
	telling them that the doors are open, that doesn't
	always work.  

	i know if i was in a typical junkie haze, i wouldn't give
	any time to reading warning stickers on a nice car i was
	about to break into.  a nice red blinking led works really
	well, actually, but not 100%, not in sf/oakland.  in the
	end, a person can steal 6 cd's from a car and sell them
	and have enough for a small rock of crack or maybe a 
	little heroin.  any kind of backpack or sleeping bag visible
	in a locked car will get stolen, too.
