I have not done an actual comparison.  All I have is what the brochure says,
and I don't know how reliable the brochure info is.

Depends on the year, but I think most of them are 3.89:1.  I might be wrong,
but I don't think VW ever used 4:11 in a U.S. production model 020 or 02A
tranny.
