Not quite. That should read, "Those tires which are insulative are also
the same ones which offer crappy grip and super-long life." Or something
to that effect.
The problem was replacing carbon with silica. The big hoopla began with
Michelin MXV-something with mid'-90s Honda Accords. They say the static
was b!tching with those Accords equipped with those low-rolling-resistance
(crappy) Michelin tires. Sometimes the build-up is so huge the radio and
those tack-on electronic compass went nuts.
