Re: Snow
>>It finally snowed in Connecticut! I'll start out with this, I have
never had snows on a Quattro before. It is a whole new experience
since I've been running all seasons on my previous Audi Quattros. By
chance I woke up at 4:00am, looked outside, saw snow and hopped in my
car before the plows ruined the roads. Very good time!!! I thought I
would share my excitement this wonderful morning.<<
I missed the boat this morning. By the time I got outside, plows had been
everywhere. Instead of having fun, I had the less than thrilling experience of
pushing about 3 inches of the real thing off poor Baby (I haven't cleaned out
the garage yet, this was going to be the weekend!) As a result of the plows
however, the little roads here in my community were icy so I did get to
practice a few stops. Interesting feeling, definitely brand new. Having never
driven an AWD auto before, it is difficult to have a lot of confidence (i.e.,
I wasn't going too fast) but I felt very good with the result. Of course, when
you really get out into civilization, its not always your car and your driving
you have to worry about, its staying out of everyone else's way. Fender
benders galore this morning. I saw one car (I think a Chebby) whose front was
so smashed in, it was hard to believe that they were driving on a road whose
speed limit is 40 to begin with. Doesn't say much for American cars in this
situation. I think I'm glad to be home.
BTW, thank you Dan for those driving tips. I really appreciate reading
anything and everything on that subject. Its funny, before I got the Audi, I
just drove...point A to point B. Now, its an experience to be enjoyed,
appreciated, analyzed, discussed, compared...things have changed. I guess I've
become and enthusiast! Oh my!
Happy Holidays!
