Blown head gasket-86 5ks N/A

My 5000S has just given me a nice Christmas present- a big time blown head
gasket. Its sucking coolant and giving me a nice cloud of white smoke.

I plan on taking the head off and doing the job next week or the following. 

This is a normal KZ N/A engine. I've never torn into an Audi engine before,
but I've wrenched a few domestic V8's over the years so I'm not intimidated by
the job.  Are there any gotchas or BTDT's to look out for?
