Cold weather clues

Hey Everyone:

Duane from San Diego here, although I'm now a resident of Virginia and 
will be working in DC soon.  Anyway, my '86 5KQT is exhibiting some 
strange behavior, in part from the long trip from the west coast.  Numero 
uno problem is a severe howl coming from the driveline(?).  Not a wheel 
bearing, so maybe a bad differential carrier bearing?  Has anyone 
replaced this part?  Any BTDTs would be apreciated.

BTW - the sudden snow storm allowed me to test the traction abilities of 
the Q.  Not as grippy as I thought it would be, although it does launch 
really well!
