RE: Mobil 1 - leaks
DO NOT ADD any stop leak additives (It can cause all kinds of "funny
problems, as in plugging up oil passages etc.), if the leaks can't be
repaired the conventional way (bad gasket, seal, or whatever) just go back
to the factory recommended type oil. You can' t go wrong with the factory
recommendation, they (Audi) have been putting oil in engines for a
while....they must know one or two things....

Subject: Mobil 1 - leaks
I recently purchased a 94 100 quattro and after several oil changes
started using Mobil 1. Later, I started noticing some oil drips on the
garage floor. I recall some info that was not uncommon on switching to
Mobil 1. Question that I have is whether this leaking will heal itself
with time or on switching back to regular oil. I have not added any
stop leak additive as yet. Car has 56k and perfect otherwise so I want
to correct the problem. Open to all similar experiences and possible
solutions. I think the leak is coming off the headgaskets.
