RE: Bomb questions
I appreciate the input from both Peter Coulter and Phil Rose. Tomorrow I'll
follow your suggestions and inspect both the high pressure hose and the
damper hose to the bomb. I seriously doubt the problem is with any of the
hydraulic pump seals, since the pump was replaced at 18k ago with a brand
new one, and it appears to be dry (but I'll double check). On the question
of leaking turbo pump, I'd thought about that, since that's the general area
where fluid has accumulated. But the coolant level hasn't gone down, and
the accumulated fluid didn't smell like antifreeze to me.
If the problem turns out to be hoses, and they're cheaper than a new bomb, I
won't complain. Is failure in these hoses a common problem?
