Leigh, if yours works like the one on the '92 V8 this feature is defeated if
you don't have the "R" button down.

Hi all,

the s4 ('92) has a (nuisance) feature of tilting the R. mirror down
automatically when you go in reverse, so you can see the curb better.

However, the mirror control system gets intermittently confused and leaves
it down, or puts it down/in as far as it can go when you start the car. 
setting the mirror manually and doing a seat/mirror memorize doesn't help
either.

My ace mechanic had one brief attempt at defeating the auto-movement to no
avail, but thought I'd poll the list before I have him spend real time on
it.
