FW: Couple of Questions "Kinda Long"
Still new to the 20v .... I have a couple more things I have run across.
I removed my alternator, took it to a local Bosch Authorized Repair/Dealer.
The changed the regulator and brushes. He showed me the brushes.. Apparently
they were bad.. So I re installed the alternator, Car runs, Charges fine.
Now it seems that sometimes at night... with the headlights and heat on,
When I come to a stop the car idles down and the charging voltage goes down
to 12v... other times it stays where it should but there is no change in
idle speed. When the the charging voltage is at 12v the engine sounds like
it is running rough but the idle speed s the same. Now it has been colder
here in Ohio lately but My car usually is parked in the garage when and it
seems to only do it at night..
Second,
A while back I had to top off the pentosin level. That corrected the
slight groan I was getting. It did not appear low but after a call to my
trusted mech. I added some and it seemed corrected. This morning, it is
about 35 degrees out. I left the car outside all night. I got in the car and
noticed the same groaning sound on turns when the cars idle is below 1500
rpms.
Now is there a chance that these are related or two separate problems all
together. I did not see the pentosin leaking anywhere, I know my brakes are
going to need replaced soon but they have plenty to get me through the
winter... Is there a possible leak somewhere I wouldn't see any evidence of
it?
Thanks,
Kyle
