Re: wishbone pivot bushes



The following is an unproven but suspected theory.

If you torque the bolts before putting the car on the ground, the inner
metal part of the bushing can get locked in place while the control arm is
still extended fully down (Sorta like if your Audi was impersonating General
Lee and jumping over twelve bales of hay and a pig).  Then you lower the
jack (or clear the pig) and the outer metal piece rotates while the inner
stays fixed in the subframe.  The rubber between the outer and inner metal
parts goes ouch, possibly tears, or at least is real stressed and prone to
premature failure.
