90' V8 Idle and Brake Question

Hello All,
	Just wanted to through out a question to the group  and see if any one
else has had similar problems.  I have a 90 V8 with 60K on it and at cold
startup the idle seems to go from 1100 to about 300rpm until I blip the
throttle a few times and clean it out.  after that it's fine.  Warm start
UP's are not a problem, no idle fluctuations at all.  Also the brake light
at startup tends to stay on for about 15 seconds and then after getting
under way it goes out.  The brake light comes on when applying heavy pedal
at a stop light and then goes out after motoring away.  It's not all the
time but 2 out of 10 stoplights.  I am fairly new at the Audi game but have
faculties and the tools to fix if I know what to look for.  Thanks for the
help in advance and if this has already been covered I am sorry.
