Re: Bose Stereo Issues

I have an 95' Audi S6, with the Bose stereo system. First of
all, despite the fact that the stereo manual says nothing about
a CD changer, it has wires that goto a CD changer. The Bentley
makes it sound like that is the stereo for the CD changer.
What does this stereo look like.

I have a CD player from another car, but I'm having trouble
wiring it. Crutchfield said that there are no harness for this
car and that I have to throw away all the bose equipment and
start fresh. I questioned that in saying the stereo has line
outs which I could connect to the amps. They said it was a
special Bose setup and that I will not work.

Has anyone delt with this problem before?

Does anyone know if they have the same connectors on other
cars. I know my old '93 90CS had similar connections on the
back of the head unit.

Suggestions?

Well.....I have a Audi 200 10v with a Bose system and I have a simliar
problem. But the only thing that you can do is to get the OEM CD changer for
it. Alpine makes the CD changer for Bose, but only factory Audi parts can fit
on that car. I think the list price is 700+ on that. What I did was I got a
CD changer that went though the FM reciever and its working great, but the
thing is that it doens't look as pretty as a factory CD player, so its up to
you
