More Suspension Questions

Thanks for all the advice on my suspension. Now for the wife's suspension! (She's decided to upgrade!)
Is her 117k mile 90 80q likely to need front and rear struts/shocks? The supplier she called said all four corners should be done. Also, the supplier asked if she needed "rings". While I've always thought rings became intimate with pistons & cylinders, I readily admit to not knowing much :-) TIA
