RE: BF Comp T/A VR4
I really like the all season H rated Firestone SH30s on my 86 5kcstq. Very
good dry,wet and snow traction, though they appear to be wearing fast for H
rated tires. (I've never been able to get more than 15,000 miles from a Z
rated tire on any car, even with regular rotations.)

I had a hell of a time getting Comp T/A VR4s for my 100Q. I got the
same answer; no production date. It figures that they would basically
discontinue their best all around tire....
I never found them. I can recommend the Touring T/A instead. They
come in H and some V rated. I use the H on both the '90 90Q20V and
the '95 A6QW. Not quite up to the Comp T/A but quite nice, and
VERY good in snow.
