I've seen 3 or 4 smashed ones and they look like GRP to me - if there's any
Kevlar in there its well hidden...

Most sources reckon that GRP lids started to be fitted when the MB engined
Ur-qs appeared, thats late 87, but who knows for sure? I strongly suspect
that the guys in the Ur-q assembly hall fitted whatever was to hand at the
time. This would explain a number of anomalies, such as late model 10v's
being fitted with early sequence MB engines.
