No thats normal.
Heres how it works. You send your check and you hear nothing.
About a month or two later, you call. She sends you a newsletter personally.

This continues for the next twelve months.
Finally, when your membership expires you decide to renew because every
month it was a hassle, and the newsletter isnt that great anyway.
On the thirteenth month (and every month thereafter) you will receive the
newsletter in the mail like clockwork.
