sunroof question '84 5000T

i opened my sunroof today for the first time in a few months (never had a
problem before) and the sunroof failed to slide back.  the "vent" or "pop up"
position works fine, but it wont slide back into the roof, and i did get it to
go back alittle, then it got stuck, and was scraping the paint on the right
rear corner so i pressed it down and i managed to get it closed, but it wont
seal right now, the right side drops down below the roofline when the left
side is level. does this sound like a broken cable? it will move forward and
back alittle, but it jams up against the roof on the right side..

any insight would be appreciated..
