actually, my point was that when the clutch *bit* @10k rpm in 1st gear, 
your instantly have twice current red-line in 1st.  thats about 60mph, give 
or take, with another 7k rpm to come.  by my calculations, that would 
equate to a peak of over 100mph.  in 1st...

gives a new meaning to the "street light derby" so beloved of 'mericans...

I wouldn't say that. When Renault put F1 V12 (or was that V10?) into the
Espace, the 0-60 acceleration was un-exciting 6.9 sec.
