Light Switch?

For the list at large,

I have recently installed a new headlight switch in my 4kcsq.  I had to
replace the old one, it burnt out the parking light part of the switch when
the headlights were engaged.  I noticed prior to this that the switch gets
very hot.

 My lighting system is as follows, I have higher wattage bulbs in the DOT
lights using a relay that is activated by the low beam wire on the drivers
side.  Yes in this configuration I have no high beams.

My question is why is the switch still getting so hot?  I noticed it this
morning on the way to work.

Please help I do not want to cook another switch.
