best accel: - 

1) sport quattro 1985 (autocar figures)
zero to 30 1.8, 40 2.8, 50 3.7, 60 4.8, 70 6.7, 80 8.2, 90 10.0, 100 12.6,
standing 1/4 13.5 @104mph
standing km 23.9 @129mph
40-60 in 3rd, 4th, 5th: 3.2, 6.7, 10.5
50-70 in 3rd, 4th, 5th: 3.0, 5.0, 7.9
60-80 in 3rd, 4th, 5th: 3.0, 4.5, 6.1

2) rs2 1995 (autocar figures) - slower kilo, but better top speed and faster
in-gear times.

zero to 30 1.5, 40 2.5, 50 3.6, 60 4.8, 70 6.4, 80 8.1, 90 10.2, 100 13.1,
110 15.9, 120 20.2, 130 25.8
standing 1/4 13.5 @102mph

best cornering: - stock would be the rs2 (maybe sport q) for high speed
stuff.  s8 possibly (i've been piloted at high speed in one).

gets most performance out of mods: - rs2 to 600hp via mtm, although any 20v
turbo would be able to do the same with somewhat more modification.

easiest to mod: - 20v turbo.

best top speed: - rs2 to 169mph stock (autocar).

the best audi an rs2?  nope, that's the ur-quattro.
