Cruise control not working

Hey guys,

After fixing the hatch squeaking problem on the car, the only annoying thing
left is my non-functional cruise control. It doesn't do anything.

I've replaced the switch(es) on the steering column with brand new ones to
no avail. I checked to see if the plunger throttle thing can apply pressure
or vacuum and it can (no holes). All the hoses connected to the unit look
fine (fresh), but I don't have a MityVac to test them.

However, I couldn't find the other end of the vacuum hose which goes through
the firewall, I thought it would go behind the brake pedal but I couldn't
find anything back there.

What else could be bad? I've heard the unit itself hardly ever fails, so do
you guys think it's the vacuum hoses? Is there anything else left that
could fail???

What should I do next?

Thanks,

Chris
