In  '93 there were two different engines available for AUDI V8 3.6 and 4.2

3.6 - 0-100 in 7.9        (250hp)
4.2 - 0-100 in 6.7 .      (as i remember 280hp)

The question remains: why 250hp engine gives 9.2 in '90 and in '93 - 7.9
secs ?

Are there chains or belts in the front of engine (near radiator) ? They are
closed and it;s impossible to check. It looks like they link crankshaft and
camshafts . There are two of them , one for each side .
