Re: Space saver spare tires are a joke
Hi Joel;
The plastic tire well cover has just enough clearance to accomodate the
stock 205/60 15 tire - I don't think it would fit the wider tire. AFAIK
these plastic covers were only fitted to the '86 5ktq and perhaps some '87
5ktq's with the full size spare. All other years came with the space saver
and the flat cover. I kept the full size spare from my totalled '86 5ktq but
didn't know the covers were different until I bought my '91 200q (with space
saver) several weeks later. By then it was too late - the plastic cover was
gone to Quebec along with the rest of the car.
