If and when they can be bothered to check the function of their lights,
that is. When I'm driving, I continuously flash my high beams at people who
either drive with no lights at all ('Hey, I can still see properly. No need
to switch my lights on!') or who have one or more bulbs out.

Then there's the morons who drive with their high beams on all the time
(what is it... don't they look at their dash at all? You hardly need your
high beams here anyway!) or their fog lights ('cause it's so cool!) Lights
are functional not decorative, for heaven's sake.

More aware of proper use? Yes, but the amount of people who _are_ is
decreasing all the time.

Sorry for the rant. This is my number one irritation on the road- egotists
and people who use their cars as appliances, i.e. don't look at the dash.
And remember when reading this that Holland has mostly narrow but well-lit
roads.
