Get some real fog lights and drive in some real fog at night, you'll 
have to slow down if you turn on your DOT lights.  I've spent a lot of $ 
on fog lights, they're marginally better than eurolights when the fog 
gets thick and you have to slow down, but worlds better than DOT lights.  
Outside of fog, they're worthless, annoying, and in some states, illegal 
at night (as an Oklahoma State Trooper pointed out to me).
