Re: 1988 A-100 Quattro
Here we gooooo...........
- The buzzing fuel pump is normal (sometimes the noise increase when de fuel
tank came be empty, I think)
Its not normal, its a classic book case of the fuel pump going bad. The fuel
pump has a screen that filters debris from going into the engine. The screen
over time will have build up and clog up the fuel filter and the filter starts
to go bad. If you catch it early enough you can clean out the filter, but
most likely its gone (BTDT). I have heard some people "Cut" the screens out.
Any comments on that?
- The oil consumption is in Highway 10 Litr/100Kms (24mil/gal) and City 13
Litr/100 Km (18 mil/gal).
From your experience, do you think that this behaviour is normal?.
My 89 200t 10v gets that same MPG. But this may not be accurate
- They told me that this car was registered in 1998. I look in the Audi list
and the first 100Q was in 1989. Are there some place (p.e.internet) to find
the 'car origin' by the identification number (chasis)?
Can't help you there. I think AoA has one, but not sure
