Rims

I got Dan's tires mounted on the Type 5 MSW rims yesterday 
and have 2 questions: 1. There's an S and an arrow on two 
and a D and an arrow on the other 2, I figured the arrows
denote direction of travel, but what about the letters? (stupid 
question?)   2. Two of the rims a slightly bent (both with the S),
if I run them on the back of a non q will I have too much trouble?
