RE: New Audi TT-s
i'm not sure about why the pre-occupation with horsepower and the haldex.
the issue is torque, and the amount which the haldex can handle. this is
set primarily by the overload protection valve. the haldex documentation
talks about the ability to handle up to 2000nm !
as my rs2 puts out around 400nm, i don't think this will be an issue with
the engines audi currently has available. clearly though, the model being
used on the tts may change from that debuted on the ttq running @300-350nm,
in at least that the overload protection valve (and possibly clutch pack)
will change.
remember that this is basically a electronically controlled fluid clutch
that's default state seems to be "off" and as such it will be less
susceptible to driveline torque than a vsd or torsen.

I agree, from Hohenesters mouth, Haldex can handle a max of
290-300HP

The owner of the dealership who supports our QCUSA chapter was
talking about
it with me and a salesman on monday and said the same thing. It
can't handle
that much power.
