But I will bet they had not "invested" $80k after buying a couple of wrecks
and combining them to make one car:) Let us do the math and find out how
the $80k was spent.
2 x Lambo wrecks = $20,000
Serial number tag from a third wrecked Lambo with clear title = $1500
Engine tune up = $11,700 (saved $300 by not replacing #12 spark plug)
12 quarts of engine oil from Wal-Mart = $9.68
Clutch = $10,000
New battery - factory part = $825
Front brake rotors = $700 (saved money using V8 Quattro UFO rotors)
Emergency brake cables = $60 (modified Bianchi bicyle brake cables to fit -
Italian bicyle, Italian car, what's the diff? Doubled up cables for
reliability.)
Driver's side floor mat = $500 (again, saved money by using V8 Quattro part)
Driver's side door handle = $50 (saved money by using Audi part, again)
Fuel pump - wanted to avoid reliability problems with Marelli unit - bought
Jaguar part = $500
200 rolls of racer's tape = $800
5 gallon pail of pop rivets = $50
55 gallon drum of epoxy resin = $1200
1 surgical mask to protect lungs from hazardous fumes = $0.59
500 yards of fiberglass cloth = $1500
50 cans of bondo = $2000
100 spray cans of primer from Pep Boys = $400
200 spray cans of Candy Apple paint from Pep Boys = $800
4 cases of beer for use of neighbour's garage to paint car = $60
Flame decals = $75
Chain link steering wheel = $69
Eight ball shifter knob - solid wood - hand painted = $40
Fluorescent violet light kit for license frame and rocker panels = $200
4 x 3" exhaust pipe tips = $400
Jensen stereo = $129
Miami Vice soundtack cassette = $1.50
Frame straightening and reinforcement to withstand weight of bondo, tape,
and fiberglass patches = $5000
Model in skimpy bikini for photos of car = $200
Breast implants for model = $3000
Federal witholding taxes for model = $100
Liability insurance in case model brakes a heel on driveway = $500
I have not added it up but it seems like $80,000 might be a stretch:)
(I have no knowledge of this car - just being mischievous.)
