The distributor can be changed with out removing the intake manifold.  You
can get the tamper proof cap off with a hammer and chisel (or long
craftsman screw driver that can be exchanged for a new one later).

You will need a stubby wrench to get the bolt off and the plastic tool is
not necessary.  You will probably take 1 hour to do the job.  Don't forget
to get the car to TDC prior to doing the job.
