If the "information display" you are referring to is the one that shows
MPG, BAR, etc. and it is the only lighting not working then probably
not the license plate light circuit.

When mine did this I pulled the instrument cluster (remove steering
wheel, two screws at top of instrument cluster, and the whole unit
slips out) and cleaned the bulb connection for the information display.
Works fine now for about six months.
