Uhm...I don't quite believe this. I know the electrical
gauge supposedly reads slowly, but on my MC 10-valver
the ECU cuts the fuel supply at (as far as I know) about
1.6 bar (MAP) of boosting, however my gauge has already
spiked as high as 1.9 bar before this happens. These days
it does it at 1.7 bar and 1.8 bar before the shutdown
happens, and that's with the bad diaphragm thing and
possible stuck WG. It used to start snapping at 1.6 bar
when the diaphragm started to disintegrate. I am not
doing more than 3/4 throttle to achieve high boost, but
it means I'm running the high boost low down and I don't
think the ECU likes that (timing off).
Anyway, if the gauge reads lower than what the ECU
sees then my boost has gone to 2.0+ bar without a
fuel cutoff and I don't think I've stuffed it up that
badly.
Just my 2 cents ... before taxes.
