See, now this kind of thing makes me nervous. I hate when this crap
happens. Why do you suppose Audi increased the size of the oil filter
between the 100 and A6 versions of this car? It just makes me wonder what
prompted the change?

PS - Sam, are you beggining to see what I'm talking about here as far as
your A6 being the more sorted car when compared to the 100?

Here's the scoop, copied from the Mahle catalog at my local
import parts place.
Engine code AAH, up to early '95: #719/25 79mm diameter (OC154)
Engine code AFC, after early '95: #940/25 95mm diameter (???)
Most 5 cylinders take #719/5 (OC47), 79mm diameter
The small filters were about $6 or so mail order, the large
filters were $13. Guess which one I need :-(
