standard 80 quattro springs (NOT!)

Arghgh,

Well, I had the broken front spring replaced on my car yesterday. I had a 
supposedly standard set of springs for an 80 quattro. They aren't.

They are lowered uprated ones. Same no. of coils, but thicher guage and a finer
pitch (well the coils are closer together, is that called pitch??). What would
you have done? I had it fitted as there was no way I wanted to drive the car 
with the top of the spring no longer retained by the retainer but with the
inside of the turret doing its best to contain the jagged edge of a broken
spring. They aren't lowered by much but they are definately lowered. Took the
mechanic an hour, with me peering over his shoulder so I should be able to do
do the others in two hours each?

Can anyone confirm what Boge spring part no's

are? Do Boge have a web site or does anyone know their number?
