PROBLEMS STILL PERSIST WITH SOOT
Regarding the repairs on my '90 Audi Coupe (VIN WAUGD08BXLA000639), I am
still amazed that your shop can't solve the soot issue on the rear
bumper. Bob, I don't believe for one second that the amount of
accumulated burnoff can be attributed solely to the exhaust tips
pointing up. That is to me just a crock of ---- and is a cop out on your
part.
I may never buy an Audi/VW again because you and even the dealerships
can put closure on
my problem. I am now converted to sticking with American made/nameplates
for now on. In addition, my Dad is just as upset with this as I am and
the following is a message that I thought would be appropriate to foward
to you.
"I hope you have reached the end of the road on spending on the
Audi--let
your mechanic spend his time and money under his guarantee to figure out
why you still have the the black smoke problem and let him correct it at
his expense--or is he simply guessing about the problem. You really
can't afford to spend any money on it other than having the exhaust
installed."
So what is your reply Bob? Are we at the end of the road? Everything has
been
replaced minus the bottom-end of the engine i.e. pistons/rings. I should
hope in the next
month to have a complimentary leakdown test to check for the possibility
of the worn rings.
A quick response is needed.
