Indeed. I can feel it when I went to the San Jose auto show last month.
Traffic was high in the Audi area and this was in stark contrast to the
situation just a few years ago. You can see it in people's interest
level in the cars. I overhear people's comments as they look at the
various models "I want this", "gorgeous", "they'll sell a million of
these"... etc. Audi is even "kewl" with youngsters now. I saw a teenage
dude sitting in the driver's seat of the A8q, hands on the steering wheel,
daydreaming a drive of his life... (maybe he saw "Ronin" and this is about
as close as it'll get :-)).
Too bad there wasn't a TT on display. It would have been dynamite.
The tide has finally turned. Audi is on a roll here, and Japanese cars
have definitely lost their edge. "Automobile" magazine's ten best list
has mostly German cars... the "best luxury sedan" is an Audi A8.
Heck, I even get asked about my A4 on several occasions.
